 Region IV Div. 1 Quarterfinals   Sauk Valley 79  Malcolm X  70

    The Skyhawks fell behind early to the Hawks due to some early Skyhawk turnovers and Malcolm X's hot 3pt. shooting, but Sauk Valley only trailed by 1 at the half 34-35.  The second half saw the lead change hands several times before the Skyhawks finally took control in the final 8 minutes, building the lead to 5 on a 3pt. shot by Jake Gaither and then locking the victory down at the free throw going 29 of 36 (80.6%) for the game.  Leading the way for the Skyhawks were LA Fayne with 18 pts, Devon House with 15 pts.and a team leading 10 rebounds, while Riek Riek and Jake Gaither each had 12 pts. in the victory.  The Skyhawks advance to the Region IV Div. 1 Semi-fInals on Saturday where they will take on top seeded Triton at 5:00pm..  The second semi-final game on Saturday at 7:00pm. will see the host and No. 2 seed Highland take on 3rd seed Kankakee;  with the two winners meeting Monday at 7:30pm. for the Region IV Div. 1 Men's Championship.  Go Skyhawks!!
